Mississauga race ready to hit the water

This June, Mississauga will be welcoming an event that will see teams take to the water in an annual event that will be returning for its 16th year.

The Mississauga Dragon Boat Festival will be hitting the waters where the Credit River meets the lake. The Mississauga Canoe Club has invited companies, organizations, families and groups of friends to form teams of between 18 to 22 people and register for the day, which promises to offer fun in the fresh air.

Each team that enters the competition will paddle their boat in two heats, as well as one final. The participants are asked to arrive for registration starting at 7:15 am, and after this, the team captains will meet to discuss the schedule for the day. The races will begin at 8:30 am, and the day will wrap up at 3:30 pm.

A variety of vendors will be on site selling food and beverages, and the attendees are also encouraged to bring along plenty of water, sunscreen, a folding chair and shelter from the sun. Banners can make an event like this feel complete, and a banner printing company will be able to provide them.

This year’s Mississauga Dragon Boat Races will be held on June 9 at 31 Front Street North. The proceeds of the day will be donated to charity.
