Mississauga learning opportunity for osteopaths

Working with children in a clinical setting often requires some special skills, and these will be explored during a three-day workshop organized by the Southern Ontario College of Osteopathy.

The “An Osteopathic Approach in Pediatrics” seminar will take a practical approach to working with children, and the students will be able to gain some experience in doing so themselves. They will discover how communication is often key to ensuring a youngster is comfortable during a treatment.

The workshop will open with a review of anatomy and physiology, and after this, it will move on to the conditions that osteopaths are often asked to treat. It will take a child-centred approach to the topic, and the learners will discuss how they can tailor their communication practices to the age of the individual they are working with. Performing assessments is also on the agenda.

When preparing to host an educational activity like this, it can be a good idea to prepare learning packages to distribute to the registrants on the first day. These can include promotional Pens, as well as bound manuals and other texts, which are available from a Print shop that offers comb binding and other services.

The An Osteopathic Approach in Pediatrics short course is set to go ahead starting on April 23rd, and it will take place at 1020 Johnson's Lane. The fee to register is $845.
