Biking enthusiasts in Mississauga will get the chance to enjoy a fun ride while helping a great cause this weekend.
This will be the third year in a row that the Eden Community Food Bank’s Ride for Hunger has taken place in the area and each year, it has grown significantly. More than 100 participants are expected to turn out for the event on Saturday.
While the area’s motorcycle riders are always happy to lend a hand whenever someone needs help, this ride is special because the funds raised will go to help a not-for-profit organization in their own community. The Eden Food Bank provides food and other essentials to hungry families in the area.
Any bike association or club is welcome to take part. The basic entry fee is $35.00, while $50.00 gets a souvenir T-shirt which has been designed and created by a local Print company, as well as a ticket for the grand prize drawing. Each participant will also receive a gift bag.
Those wishing to take part can register at the pre-ride party, which will be held at Turtle Jack’s on Meadowvale on Friday from 8:00-10:00pm. Registration will also be held immediately prior to the event in the Food Bank parking lot at 2-3185 Unity Drive. There will be a breakfast courtesy of Tim Horton’s, and then the ride will begin.
At the end of the route, there will be a free lunch and prizes will be awarded. The grand prize will be a Carmin motorcycle GPS which is valued at $700.00.
