Spring is on the way, and that means migrating birds will soon be on the move. When they do, an upcoming Mississauga workshop will help community members to give these birds a warm welcome, and all ages may take part.
During the Family Day: Birdhouse Building and Birding, the group will be constructing bird houses, which may be hung in a tree or other location to encourage birds to stay and raise a family. The organizers have explained that as power tools will be used for the project, safety glasses will be required, and they will be supplied to attendees.
The attendees will learn how to design and build a birdhouse that is functional, and tips for placement will also be discussed. After the hands-on portion of the session, the participants will head outdoors for a bird walk around the venue’s ground. Binoculars may be borrowed by attendees if needed, and everyone should dress for the weather. Pets are not permitted, but those who require a service animal are welcome to bring theirs.
Bird watching can be a fun way to introduce kids to environmental stewardship and advocacy. A brochure printing company can prepare any handouts that are needed for a learning session like this, and these may incorporate full colour photos and other graphic design elements.
This chance to show some love to Mississauga’s returning feathered friends will be offered on February 19th. It will be held at 4300 Riverwood Park.
