Individuals and families who have been touched by Alzheimer's or other Forms of dementia may wish to make sure they save space in their calendar for a Mississauga workshop in early 2019.
It will be focused on making sure people living with these conditions enjoy good health and as high a quality of life as they can.
The goal of the class is to help empower both individuals and their families and caregivers so that they can actively enhance their wellbeing. The facilitators will be experts in the field from the Peel region, and they will be sharing actionable tips and other information.
The workshop is scheduled to run for two hours, and the topics covered will range from tips for maintaining a high quality of life while coping with dementia, to healthy aging and creating an enriching environment. It was noted that the ideas shared will be practical, and after the conclusion of the workshop, there will be time for the participants to mingle over coffee.
Along with the practical advice, each participant will be walking away with a list of resources in their community. Fridge magnets or other items that include contact details for these supports can make it easier for someone to access them when they need them, and items like these can be crafted by an area printing services provider.
This free learning and networking opportunity will be offered to the public on January 12. The venue for the function is located at 24 Stavebank Road North in Mississauga.
