The Habitat for Humanity ReStore location in Mississauga recently came together with two others to thank local emergency medical services staff with a special just for them.
The three non-profit home improvement stores offered EMS workers a 50 percent discount off the sticker price on the items they currently have in stock, to recognize the contributions they make every day in their communities.
These special prices were offered to individuals in the police, fire and paramedic services, including those who are retired. Along with the low prices, the emergency workers were given small gifts and refreshments at an appreciation event on May 6th , as well as personalized, hand-written notes to further say ‘thank you’ to them for keeping the city safe. A Stationery printer can provide personalized materials for just such an event.
According to one retired paramedic who wanted to see the discount being offered, he had heard about it from another EMS worker who is also retired and decided to come and check it out.
The secondary goal of the event was to help raise awareness about ReStore and how it works. It raises money for local projects through the sale of donated construction materials and other items. Many emergency services personnel volunteer their time to help out both behind the counter in the store and in Habitat For Humanity home building events, where they construct houses for families in need.Get a Free Quote for Stationery
