Mississauga is set to celebrate its 16th Seedy Saturday, presenting a chance to get ready for the upcoming gardening season.
Anyone can participate in this chance to chase away the winter doldrums. All members of the public are invited to stop by with some seeds to exchange, and they are also invited to pick some up to take home as well.
Along with the seed exchange centre, the attendees can visit the exhibitor area, and sit in on a workshop that can help them to grow their gardening skills. Along with this, the Cozy Cafe will be serving up an assortment of refreshments. This will be an event for all ages, and presents an opportunity to discover the benefits of seed saving.
By making this sort of event family friendly, an organization can give kids a fun way to discover the joys of horticulture. Stationery printers are on hand to design Envelopes for storing the seeds, which have a graphic design that includes space for the date they were collected, and these can be used to keep the seeds dry and safe until it is time for them to be planted.
The 2020 Seedy Saturday Mississauga celebration will be open to the public on April 4. The venue for the day will be located at 84 South Service Road.
