Food festival returns to Missisauga

Food fans in Mississauga are thought to be enjoying the return of the Taste of Streetsville festival, which is running in the area until next month.

As part of the occasion, local Print companies have produced Menus for 10 restaurants throughout the city, all containing several different items priced at $25.00. Whenever someone chooses one of the dishes, 50 cents will be donated to help support the expansion of the Credit Valley Hospital.

Two businesses that offer smaller meals, snacks and coffee are also taking part; their collaborative menu is titled ‘Just a Taste of Streetsville’.

The Hospital improvements are currently in the third phase, and work will begin again in 2014 if the funding targets are met successfully. The plans are focused on expanding the existing emergency department.

The changes will see the flow of patients through the facility improved while providing special diagnostic and treatment areas that are dedicated to pediatrics and senior care. The construction of new surgical units and a redevelopment of the critical care unit will also take place.

Patrons who select an item from one of the specially created menus will also receive a chance to enter a draw for a gift basket which has been filled by their favorite restaurant.

Those seeking more information about this popular food festival are encouraged to visit the Taste of Streetsville website, where they will find a list of the establishments which have been chosen to participate in the program. The event runs until October 9th.
