While many may know that butterflies and bees are important pollinators, they may not be as familiar with all the other creatures that provide this service, and a Mississauga event will introduce them to the public.
The Four Corners Branch of the Brampton Library system has made arrangements to host a workshop that will explore the wide world of pollinators and how people can help them through gardening. It is well suited to the beginner, and is being offered free of charge.
The Gardening for Birds, Butterflies and Beyond session will explore how bees, birds, moths, flies and other creatures can all be important pollinators, and the participants will learn how to choose plants that offer them food and shelter. The function is suitable for older youths and adults, and it is being organized by Christopher Black. The run time for the activity is two hours, and anyone with questions will have an opportunity to ask them.
While a workshop like this may offer an introduction to a particular topic, the participants may be hungry for more information. Handouts can be prepared that provide this, and they will be available at a local printing services provider.
This Mississauga area introduction to the wide world of pollinators and how to make them feel welcome will be taking place on June 19th. It will begin at 6:00 pm and end at 8:00 pm.
