Downtown London North will play host to the 10th anniversary edition of the CMAOntario awards, honouring the province’s best country music.
Awards will be presented in 19 categories, including major trophies like Single of the Year and Album of the Year, as well as awards for country radio stations, with London’s own Country 104 nominated for the Large Market awards. The awards ceremony will be hosted by Robyn Ottolini and Jason McCoy, the former of whom is nominated for six awards on the night.
In addition to awards presentations, the show will feature a number of live performances including Tim Hicks, Kristen St. Pierre, River Ton Saints and The Western Swing Authority. There will also be a special tribute to Impact Award recipient Carroll Baker.
The CMAOntario Awards also have a host of shoulder events that make up a whole weekend in London North and surrounding areas. These include a new Street Fair, which will include a series of free outdoor concerts at Dundas Place, a Legacy Revival tribute event and a Bonfire concert featuring up-and-coming artists. Awards ceremonies are a key part of the country music scene, often providing an opportunity for networking, with regional awards such as this advertised through local radio, poster printing and other grassroots tools.
The 10th edition of the CMAOntario awards will take place at Centennial Hall on the evening of June 5.
