London North area run to benefit charity

The London version of the Canadian Cancer Society’s Run for the Cure event will be hitting the streets this October, raising money to benefit cancer research.

The event is the local edition of a coast-to-coast-to-coast fundraiser that is one of the Cancer Society’s biggest annual fundraisers, designed to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness month. Participants can run a one-kilometre route through the park or a five-kilometre challenge that winds throughout downtown London. The race route will include amenities like water stations and washrooms and aims to be family friendly.

The day of the run will begin with a T-shirt pickup and opening ceremonies, aiming to attract participants from London North and other areas. Charitable events like this often include clothing and other Promotional Products to help participants commemorate the occasion and represent the cause. Participants can also pool their donations as part of a team, with the top donors receiving their own tent space on run day.

Run for the Cure is one of the country’s biggest fundraising events, having raised over $500 million since 1992. In addition to research into cures and treatments for breast cancer, the run helps provide prosthetics and other support to victims of breast cancer. Over 46,000 people participated across Canada last year.

The London leg of the 2025 Run for the Cure will take place at Victoria Park on the morning of October 5.
