Renaissance Festival to thrill London North

The Oxford Renaissance Festival will be hosted just north of London this August, aiming to transport visitors back in time.

The festival will feature attractions, entertainments and goods inspired from European history, from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, as well as Arthurian fantasy. Entertainment includes knights jousting on horseback and other simulated Forms of combat, Celtic musing, medieval-style comedy, fire-eating performances, and illusionists.

Visitors can come as they are or dress in period costumes and try out activities such as archery and axe throwing. The Boars Head Inn will be open to visitors over the age of 19, offering traditional ale and mead as well as food. There will also be a special opening night pub event requiring a separate ticket.

The Renaissance Festival will also include a marketplace of vendors and artisans ranging from painters to blacksmiths, offering items inspired from the medieval era, high fantasy and more. The Oxford event is the oldest hosted by Faires.Ca, which holds similar Renaissance Festivals across Ontario.
