London’s Echo Valley Golf Club, along with other courses across the province, re-opened on Victoria Day weekend featuring a few new adjustments.
Echo Valley opened up its full eighteen-hole course for golfers, measuring 6,343 yards in total. The course has seen a few revisions to follow health protocols laid out by the province. The hole itself has been filled with solid foam, making the objective for the ball to roll onto or over the spot. Flag sticks are to be left in place throughout. The change may require some getting used to, but it should save golfers the agony of having a ball dip in and out of the hole.
The course offers four sets of tees for different skill levels. The accompanying Pro Shop and Snack Bar have also been re-opened to provide equipment and on-the-go refreshments. It’s a late start for the club, which usually begins its season in April, and typically hosts special tournaments and private events with as many as 148 participants in addition to individuals and small groups. A lot of effort goes into making sure clubs like this run smoothly, from landscaping and gardening teams to printing services for scorecards and promotional materials.
Echo Valley re-opened on May 16. Those interested should book a tee time in advance and bring their own equipment.
