The London Fringe Festival has announced its full schedule for 2024, with a bevy of stage plays and performances a short distance away from London North.
In the tradition of Fringe Festivals around the world, the festival features amateur and professional stage performers in a variety of formats, with everyone having a chance to put their passion project on stage. This year’s performances include “If the Shoe Fits”, a monologue from the perspective of an elderly shoe salesman; Front-line Murder, a murder-mystery with audience participation; and romantic-themed sketch comedy show Dated Humour. Family-friendly shows include a stage adaptation of the classic children’s book The Velveteen Rabbit, and the African folk dance-inspired Jelimana.
Each performance will be no longer than 55 minutes, allowing festivalgoers to take in many different shows, with affordable ticket prices and six performances per show. Applicants are selected through a lottery process. Fringe Festivals like this are held in cities large and small, and typically use methods such as poster printing and social media to help attract theatre lovers and curious residents.
The shows will be staged across six venues, predominantly in downtown London close to London North, including Fanshawe College, The Palace Theatre, and the London Music Hall of Fame. The 2024 London Fringe Festival is set to take place from August 13 to 17 at these venues.
