The 17th annual Tournament of Hope is returning to Cambridge this June. It is a fundraiser for the Independent Living Centre of Waterloo Region.
This will be a day-long event for golfers, and is a four-person scramble tournament that will feature both teams of either men or women as well as mixed gender groups. Fees will include the round of golf, the use of an electric cart, refreshments, lunch, and dinner. There will also be an evening program, in which prizes are awarded to many of the players, and a silent auction.
The Independent Living Centre of Waterloo Region helps people with disabilities, allowing them to live by comfortably themselves. The Centre also helps to educate the public on many of the issues the disabled must deal with.
Sponsorships are available and donations to the silent auction are encouraged.
As with most charity events, the sponsors will no doubt be recognized both on the golf course and at the dinner. This could involve having their names printed on a sign or banner placed at the beginning of the golf course. Printing companies in the Cambridge area are sometimes asked to provide these items.
The Tournament of Hope is being held at Grand Valley Golf and Country Club on June 11th from 11:30am - 8:00pm. Tickets are $125 per person. To find out more about the tournament, contact Paula Saunders at 519-571-6788 x7478.
