Class to help Cambridge sushi fans get rolling

Cambridge sushi fans who have always wanted to try their hand at crafting their own rolls will soon be able to get some hands-on experience, thanks to a special activity on the way for the community.

Wave Maker Craft Brewery and Taproom will be teaming up with Joyce of Cooking to host a class that will introduce the basics of making hand-rolled sushi. It will run for one hour, and those who attend the session will be invited to create, have fun and meet other local fans of Japanese cuisine.

The participants will each be able to try their hand at preparing a tuna roll, as well as a spicy salmon roll and a California roll. The techniques they learn can then be used to prepare other combinations in their own home kitchen. A complimentary drink will be included with each ticket. As the attendees will be working with food, they have been asked to inform the organizers about any allergies before the session.

A culinary class teaches new skills and can also be lots of fun. Stationery printers can prepare recipe cards and other items to make it easier for the participants in a workshop like this to keep on learning once they head for home.

This easy introduction to the art of preparing sushi will be on offer on January 12th. The venue can be found at 639 Laurel Street in Cambridge.
