Chamber offers the secrets of networking success

The Cambridge Chamber of Commerce is set to present a special seminar on business networking next month, giving local entrepreneurs the chance boost their skills.

‘Communicating in a business environment: Seven steps to positive networking’ will be presented by Greg Durocher, the President and CEO of the Chamber. It is designed to teach members the keys to successful networking, based on Shepa Learning's ‘Seven Secrets of Positive Networking’. It lays out the basics of making good business connections.

Some of the steps involve entrepreneurs making a point to listen to those they meet at networking events, making good first impressions, treating everyone they meet as an equal regardless of their position, asking questions and forcing themselves to visit networking events at least once a month. No doubt those who attend will have the chance to use what they learn right away.

One way business leaders can make great first impressions with the people they meet is to have professional Business Cards to exchange. Many of those planning to attend this Cambridge event will likely be ordering new cards from their local printing company in advance. That way they will have enough to hand out and can insure that the contact information is current and correct.

The ‘Seven Steps to Positive Networking’ seminar is taking place at the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce on January 9 from 9:00-11:00am. Admission is free for members. For more information, call Joceylyn Phillips at 519-622-2221 x2225, or visit the Chamber’s official website.
