Cambridge’s first responders are set to throw down in a friendly competition that will fund an initiative serving those in need of mental health support.
First responders will be showing off their best dance moves in the upcoming PAWtember First Responders Dance Challenge. The event is part of a series of fundraisers with a goal of raising $100,000 for the psychiatric service dog initiative, as the cost for training one dog can top $20,000.
Local fire, paramedic and police first responders will have teams taking part, and they will each participate alongside a dance team from the surrounding area. Lunch may be purchased on site, and a variety of BBQ fare will be available. Everyone can try their luck in the even split draw, and a silent auction for an assortment of items and experiences is also in the works.
In order to help maximize the amount raised for the cause, the organizers are interested in hearing from any business that would like to donate to the auction or serve as sponsor. Those that do will have their generosity acknowledged in a variety of ways, including incorporating their Logo Design and other branding on the marketing materials for the event.
