It is almost time for Cambridge gardeners to plant their vegetables and other crops for another year, and thanks to an upcoming event, they will have a secret weapon at their disposal.
The annual Spring Plant Sale and EcoMarket will once again be presented by the Rare Charitable Research Reserve, and it is scheduled for the ECO Centre located at 768 Blair Road. It will be open to the public for five hours, and there will be lots to choose from.
Along with the squash, tomatoes, peppers and other veggies, the shoppers will have access to herbs, native and other pollinator-friendly plants, as well as helpful advice. As the seedlings have been started by Cambridge volunteers, they will have local provenance and should do well in area gardens.
Along with the horticultural sales area, the pop-up function will offer a small business section filled with tables of eco-friendly items and work from local artisans. The monies raised through the day will be donated to the Food Bank Gardens at Springbank Farm. Promotional Products are sometimes distributed to attendees in swag Bags at markets like this one.
The Spring Plant Sale and EcoMarket 2024 will be providing a jump start on another growing season on May 11th. It will be opening its gates at 8:00 am, and will be held rain or shine.
