Cambridge’s McDougal Cottage will once again be open for spring, and one of the upcoming activities that has been planned will give kids and their families an opportunity to learn more about the some of the traditions surrounding Easter eggs.
Children will have a chance to see how eggs were dyed using onion skins, as they were is days gone by. They will also be able to create some of their own using vegetable-based dyes that are all homemade.
After the eggs are finished, the fun will keep on going with in the back yard of the cottage. There will be an old style egg rolling race, reminiscent of the ones held each year on the lawn of the White House in the USA. Wide format printing can be sued to create Banners and other decorations for events such as this.
McDougal Cottage is a historic granite house that was originally the home of a laborer employed in the local limestone and granite industry. It was built in 1858, and is located at 89 Grand Avenue South in Cambridge.
