Cambridge invited to discover fun of foraging

Mother Nature can be generous when it comes to wild foods, and a Cambridge outing will help those who are new to forging to take advantage of this bounty.

Liam and Crystal from Wildlife Gardening will be leading a group for an outing that will visit a Cambridge historic site for a hands on forging workshop. It will provide an introduction to species that are common and easy to identify, and will open with a presentation before the group heads out to the field.

The learners in the session will discover how foraging can be both fun, economical and a way to get back to nature. Doing so ethically will be in the discussion, and everyone will receive recipes and other tips for putting these wild foods to good use. Everyone is reminded to dress for the weather and wear stride walking shoes. Tickets are $25 each, and a discount will be given to museum members.

More people are finding out how much fun forging for wild foods can be. Participating in a workshop provides an opportunity to learn from experienced pros, and a brochure printing company can provide handouts that include full colour photos so it will be easier for the recipient to ID the plants they find.

This opportunity to find out how much fun it can be to hunt for wild fruits and vegetables will begin at 1:00 pm on June 9th. Tickets may be reserved through its Eventbrite listing.
