A Cambridge attraction that believes it’s never too soon to develop a love for nature will give kids and adults alike a way to give monarch butterflies a helping hand.
The Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory has planned a butterfly tagging weekend, and the schedule for the event will offer lots of activities and chances to learn. There will also be several releases of these frequent Flyers, which like many Canadians escaping the snow and cold, head south for the winter.
On both days of the event, the public will be able to sit in on a butterfly conservation seminar where they can learn more about their life cycle, migratory patterns and even some of the mythology that surrounds these yearly migrations and the routes the monarchs will follow on their way to Mexico, California, Texas and their other winter homes. Regular admission prices will apply for both days, and the activities may be cancelled if the weather does not co-operate.
