Cambridge club to raise funds for hospice care

A group of Newfie expats is set to host an evening of music, friends and fun, and it will raise money for local palliative care service.

The Cambridge Newfoundland Club is preparing for its inaugural “Roktoberfest”, which will feature live musical performances by several area bands. It will be raising money for Lisaard House, and it will be the first rock show to do so.

The program for the occasion will include eight groups, including at least two cover bands, and cold beer will be on tap. Food will also be available for purchase on site.. It will offer the atmosphere of a Newfoundland kitchen party, and the doors will open 45 minutes ahead of the first performance. The organizers can be contacted by phone.

The funds raised during this event will be donated to The Lisaard House, which provides compassionate hospice care and other support to the community. Many planners of such activities order T-Shirts and other items printed with a special graphic design, and these may be sold to raise additional monies for a cause.

The first Roktoberfest concert will be welcoming ticketholders on Saturday, October 7th. Its doors will open at 4:30 pm, with the first band taking to the stage at 5:15 pm. The venue for the occasion is located at 1500 Dunbar Road. Tickets are priced at $25.00 each.
