Cambridge class to introduce fun of boozy baking

A Cambridge brewery has plans in the works to provide an experience that combines both beer and baking.

The Baker’s Bar has organized a workshop that may be of interest to those who would like to learn some of the basics of cake decorating in an atmosphere that is social and relaxed. It is geared towards those with a basic experience level, and it will include a recipe for preparing simple buttercream icing.

The group will be walked through a variety of techniques to use when piping icing on cupcakes, and they will have a chance to practice several different designs while enjoying a beer. Everyone will be able to take home some of their creations to keep or share, and a live demonstration will take place. Everyone will receive three piping tips for future use, and the cupcakes that will be distributed will have been prepared using Reverence Beer.

Attendees will also go home with a recipe card and piping tips. Stationery printers will be able to prepare everything from recipe cards to cheat sheets that are filled with tips for events such as this one.

The Baker’s Bar will be hosting the Hoppy Cupcakes Workshop on November 19th. It will begin at 6:00 pm at 1144 Industrial Road in Cambridge. Only those aged 19 and up may attend.
