Cambridge residents who would like to learn more about the medications used to treat mental health conditions are welcome to attend a session offered by the Waterloo Region branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association.
Supporting someone who is living with a mental illness may not always be easy and the medications used to treat them may be mysterious to many. Having a basic understanding of how they work, their side effects and other information can be helpful to those who use these medicines as well as those who support them, and this will be the focus of the session.
During the workshop, participants will learn how the various medications work and what they are used to treat. They will also discuss the side effects they can expect to see, including which ones are common and which may warrant a visit to their doctor.
