The 5th Biannual Exhibition of Emerging Artists in Ontario is taking place at the Cambridge Galleries until the end of August.
The works on display were selected from over 100 artists through an open call. There are pieces representing all genres, including watercolor, pencil drawing, video and oil painting.
The showcase, which is titled ‘theSHOW.13’, is a great opportunity for new artists to begin to make a name for themselves in the area’s art scene. The exhibition began in early July and the opening night also celebrated the anniversary of Cambridge Galleries.
Running concurrently with this exhibition is Migration Landscapes Unpacked: Concept, Process, Impressions, Legacy, which is currently displayed at the Design at Riverside gallery. This exhibit is Canada's entry into the 13th International Architecture Exhibition; the subject of which is immigration and migration presented through graphics and video installations.
This event might be of interest to those in the Cambridge area who work for graphic design and printing companies. It will give them a good idea of what is current in the art world and might give them inspiration for their own work.
The work will be on display at the Cambridge Galleries’ Queen's Square space until August 25 and is open seven days a week.
Migration Landscapes Unpacked is showing at the Riverside Gallery until September 8. The gallery is open Tuesdays through Sundays.
