The Women of Distinction Awards are taking place in Cambridge this May. It is a fundraising event for the YWCA.
The theme of this year's award gala is "Imagine what she could be". Guests will hear from a keynote speaker, and enjoy a dinner buffet before the awards are handed out. Those attending may also have an opportunity to network with their business peers.
The awards honor women who have made a difference in their field, or in the community in general. The nominees were chosen by the public, who had to choose a category and give a testimonial on why the woman deserved to win. There are eleven categories of awards to be given, including Advancement of Women, Health, Wellness and Active Living, Turning Point Award, Arts and Culture, and Lifetime Achievement.
For local businesses that wish to help the organization, sponsorships are available from $100 up to $5,000. Sponsors will be recognized during the event.
Cambridge Print companies are often asked to help advertise events like this one. This might include providing Posters and Flyers to be distributed throughout the city.
The Women of Distinction Awards will be held at Cambridge City Hall on May 21st from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Tickets are $50 or $25 for students. Guests can also sponsor a girl for YWCA programs for an extra $25.
