Halifax workshop series to offer wine tasting tour

Halifax wine lovers who have been looking for a way to add to their knowledge of Italian vintages will soon be able to take part in an upcoming workshop series.

Obladee is offering a six-week introductory course that will be a deep dive into wines crafted in Italy, and no previous experience is necessary. The classes will each run for two and a half hours, and will start with the fundamentals.

Students will learn about the basic of wine making, the various grape cultivars that are used, classification systems utilized in the industry as well as tasting techniques. They will also discover how to read and understand bottle labels and other buying tips.

In addition to the theory, participants will be able to do some taste testing that includes wine pairings. Course manuals will be distributed to each registrant so they can keep on making new discoveries, and these sorts of items can be sourced for a workshop from area Print shops.

The series of six classes will cover the various wine making regions in Italy, giving an insight into what makes each unique. More details about this can be found on the event’s online description.

Tickets for this exploration of Italy will begin on October 6th. Tickets start at $245.81, and it will be taking place at 1600 Barrington Street.
