Halifax welcomes hit TV show for auditions

The CBC's hit TV show Dragon's Den is coming to Halifax, bringing an exciting level of anticipation along with it. Halifax residents are gearing up for try-outs on February 16th, as the show visits for part of its 40-stop Canadian tour. Producers hope that the tour will find entrepreneurs for its Toronto taping. The upcoming auditions may bring a healthy amount of printed advertising as promotions are expected to excite local entrepreneurs and visitors alike.

The chosen candidates will be asked to face the dragons for five minutes of fame and, if successful, will go on to the show's taping in Toronto. Halifax entrepreneurs require no experience and can audition by simply completing an application form. Candidates who appear on the show can win financial backing for the most coherent business idea and vital start-up funding is on offer to put ideas into reality.

The location of the audition in Halifax and some of the official rules are still to be announced but there will be no age restrictions on those who wish to take part. Not only are all ages welcome, younger entrepreneurs are encouraged; with producers planning ‘student specials’ to showcase young talent.

The arrival of the hit show will make printed advertising in Halifax an integral part of the audition run in the city. Posters promoting the show and the show's tour are now displayed all throughout the country. Local printing companies can provide all of the technical and visual aids to encourage entrepreneurs to audition their ideas.
