A fall visit to McNabs Island can be an enjoyable experience for those who enjoy viewing autumn foliage, and a local not-for-profit group will soon be offering this experience.
The Friends of McNabs Island Society has scheduled its Fall Foliage Tours for October, and all ages are welcome. The excursion will depart from the Halifax side, and the registrants will meet up at the Ambassatours building on the Cable Wharf.
The visitors to the island, which is part of a provincial park, will have the chance to both enjoy nature and learn about the island’s history. It was a popular spot for First Nations fishers, and has been used for everything from military installations to farming. It was also home to a Victorian garden, which is being restored. The tours will open with a traditional Mi’kmaw welcome, and those who reserved a spot can choose from several tour types that will be on offer.
Tour operators and other companies in the hospitality sector often provide safety instructions to the participants at the start of an activity. Stationery printers can supply printed Copies of these, so that anyone who is hearing impaired can be part of the experience as well.
This annual visit to McNab’s Island will be offered on October 20th. Its Eventbrite listing offers a link to reserve tickets for the occasion, as well as additional details.
