Whether they grew up in the sixties, eighties or in the new millennium, Halifax music lovers of all ages will get some satisfaction from visiting the Steel Wheels Motor Museum to experience UNZIPPED, the first international exhibition devoted to the Rolling Stones.
Featuring original artwork by Andy Warhol, fashion by Prada, cinema by Martin Scorsese, and works by many diverse artists, the show includes over 300 original artifacts from the band’s personal collection. Visitors can get an up-close look at instruments, iconic costumes and more in a walk-through tour that offers a peek inside a replica of the recording studio used by the band.
Visitors will have the chance to listen to rare audio fragments, watch video footage, and become immersed in a realistic reconstruction of an iconic moment during the Stones’ Chelsea flat moments. After enjoying the exhibit, visitors can browse the wide selection of memorabilia available for purchase in the on-site shop, and relax with a beverage and light snack in the Voodoo Lounge.
It is recommended that visitors book tickets in advance for a timed admission and arrive 10 minutes early. Guests are encouraged to share their photos online. This is a good way for businesses such as museums to gain material for poster printing.
