The Halifax Comedy Festival is coming back to Halifax and will take place over four days in April.
The festival is sponsored by the CBC and all performances will be filmed for later viewing on the television network.
The festival presents some of the best stand-up comedians from Canada and the rest of the world. Various venues throughout the city, including the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium and Casino Nova Scotia, will be hosting events. This year, performers will include Scott Thompson, Caroline Rhea, Brent Butt, Nikki Payne and Debra DiGiovanni.
The opening gala will be held at Casino Nova Scotia on April 24. It will be a 19-and-over event; tickets are $38 or $45 for VIP seating. In addition, there will also be several related events such as Ha Ha's for Homebridge at the Mic Mac Amateur Aquatic Club also on April 24 beginning at 6:15pm. This is a fundraising event for the Hawthorne House Renovation Project and the Homebridge Youth Society. Homebridge provides residential care for young people between the ages of 12 and 18.
Organizers will likely be working with Halifax printing companies to prepare with such products as Signs, Banners, tickets, Posters and possibly advertising Flyers. While this is an annual event, advertising will be needed to let those in the city know who is appearing and where.
The Halifax Comedy Festival will take place from April 24 - 27. Tickets prices vary from $20 to $45, depending on the venue.
