The city of Halifax will be participating in the annual Burger Week again this March, in support of Feed Nova Scotia.
The 6th annual Halifax Burger Week will be made possible from the support of over 95 restaurants throughout the city. Each restaurant will serve specialty burgers, many created for, and only available during, the week of the event.
The 2018 ‘Burger Lineup’, specifying the restaurants that are participating and their burger creations, will be posted on the event website. Each year the selection includes fixed price $6 burgers, special Feed Nova Scotia burgers, gluten-free options and vegetarian and vegan fare.
All burgers with a higher price point than $6 will have a portion of the cost donated by the restaurant in support of Feed Nova Scotia. Last year, the fundraiser raised $70,655 for the charity, with 116,188 burgers sold during the weeklong event.
The event was started by Coast Publishing in 2013, with the intent of enhancing the local economy. The publisher is best known for its ‘Food & Drink City Guides’ and ‘The Coast’ publications.
The ‘Burger Week Passports’ are pocket guides that include a list of featured burgers and restaurants, as well as a stamp page to enter the ‘Win Beer for the Year’ contest. Three Stamps are needed to enter the draw that will be held on April 4th. A local Print company will often be used to produce items like this.
The 2018 Halifax Burger Week will be held from March 22 to 28, and more info can be found on its website.
