Halifax set to host gala for fishing industry

The fishing industry comes with its own set of risks to employee safety, but a little bit of knowledge and prevention can make a big difference. This is the impetus behind an evening on the slate for Halifax that will soon be back for its second year.

Splashes of Safety, which is billed as being the largest event in the country dedicated to safe practices in the fishing industry, will be welcoming guests from across Canada. It will include a plated meal as well as remarks from a keynote speaker, and a silent auction has also been planned.

Along with the food and entertainment, the function will also give the attendees several chances to network, and with 300 people expected to attend, there will be plenty of people to meet and swap Business Cards. There will also be a discussion of the latest trends that are affecting the fishing industry, and awards will be presented to those who have helped to make strides in keeping those who work in the field safe.

Along with the evening’s activities, a safety demonstration will be offered at Peggy’s Cove wharf. Handouts for this part of the day, as well as VIP Invitations, Banners, printed programs and even Drinkware customized with its Logo Design can all be prepared for this sort of occasion by local Print shops.

The Westin Nova Scotia will be the venue for this year’s Splashes of Safety gala, scheduled for September 27.
