Halifax holiday festival to support mental health programming

Another holiday season is one the way for Nova Scotia, and the Halifax Festival of Trees will help to kick off the festivities.

The celebration, which has been held for the past 30 years, helps to support the work of the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia. It is currently being planned as an in-person event, but that may need to be adjusted if health directives change.

The trees will be on display at the Doyle in downtown Halifax, and individuals, charities and businesses can bid on them, along with wreaths and other decor, in the auction. There will also be gifts in kind on the block, such as getaways, which have been donated by the province’s corporate community. A black-tie gala has been added to the agenda, and this will help to raise more funds for the cause.

This past year has shown how important mental health care can be to the public. A brochure printing company can be called on to prepare materials that can be given out during a fundraiser like this to show the supporters how their contributions will make a difference.

The Festival of Trees will be celebrating its 30th anniversary from November 20th to November 27th. More information about the function, as well as the fundraising gala, can be found on the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia’s website.
