Halifax expo to help university students find summer jobs

Finding a summer job is often at the top of the to-do list for post-secondary students, and a Halifax event will help to connect them with potential future employers.

Whether they attend Dalhousie, Mount Saint Vincent, NASCAD, St. Mary’s or another university or college, this Summer Job and Career Fair will welcome all Halifax students. The organizers have explained that many companies, organizations and government agencies start hiring early, so it can be a smart move to attend an event like this.

An initiative of the St. Mary’s University Career and Experiential Learning Centre, more than 40 employers are expected to take part in the fair, and it will be free to attend. Booth spaces in the fair may still be available for booking, and each includes the use of a table and skirting, as well as sidewalls and access to electricity.

Hosting a career event like this is one way a university can meet the needs of its students. Having a stack of Business Cards and other Promotional Products at the ready will make it easy for the participating employers to connect with the students.

The date for the next Summer Job and Career Fair, to be held at St. Mary’s University, is set to be released soon, as will its location. Its website will have the most current details for anyone who is interested.
