When it comes to a workplace, accessibility matters, and a Halifax luncheon will provide its attendees with the inside scoop on how to make their workplace welcoming to those who are disabled.
Sea Change CoLab’s Corrie Melanson will be the presenter for the late May instalment of the Power Lunch series that had been scheduled by the Halifax Chamber of Commerce. Its listing explained that two out of every five Nova Scotians are disabled, so this topic impacts a lot of Haligonians.
Corrie will cover several aspects of creating an accessible workplace, including an introduction to an accessibility confident leadership model. They will learn how to be proactive when it comes to creating accommodations for those who require them, and hiring and maintaining staff will also be on the agenda. Disability disclosure will also be discussed. A light lunch will be served, and both current and future members are invited to participate.
