Rhubarb is one of the first crops to be harvested, and an event in late May will see Halifax home gardeners celebrate the season for this popular plant.
While many may be familiar with dishes like strawberry rhubarb pie, this ingredient can be used in many other ways, and the Rhubarb Rhapsody event that will be held at Cole Harbour Heritage Farm Museum will put it front and centre. Tickets are $20 plus tax and they may be reserved ahead of time or purchased at the gate.
The staff and volunteers at the farm will be preparing a variety of rhubarb dishes, and the ticket holders will be able to sample them all. Tea and coffee will be served alongside the desserts, and a special rhubarb switchel, which is a punch-style beverage made using ginger, will be served as well.
Farm museums and other venues offer an opportunity to learn about the history of agriculture, as well as its role in today's world. A poster printing company can prepare display signage, labels and other custom materials for venues like this.
