Dalhousie to host Halifax blood drive

This October, Dalhousie University will be asking its students, faculty, staff and the general public to roll up their sleeves and give a gift that may save someone’s life.

The Dalhousie Student Union building will serve as the location for a one-day blood donation clinic, which will be administered by the Halifax branch of Canadian Blood Services. Appointments must be made ahead of time, and the entire process, from arrival to departure, may be surprisingly quick.

When each donor arrives, they will be greeted and registered. After they have answered some questions and had a brief health check, it will be time to make their contribution. This will be done by a trained phlebotomist, and once the procedure is over, the individual will be invited to take some time to relax for a few minutes with some light refreshments. They can then leave and go about the rest of their day.

Blood drives and other community events often benefit from the services of a poster printing company. It will be able to prepare materials to post on a university campus and in other locations to help build community awareness about such an event.

This Dalhousie University Blood Donation Event has been scheduled for October 25th. Appointments can be booked starting at 12:00 pm, and they will take place at 6136 University Avenue.
