Savvy gardeners know that blending perennials can lead to a garden with interest all year long, and a Winnipeg workshop will introduce newbie green thumbs to the practice.
Perennials are plants that return each year, and they tend to have a restricted bloom time. Dubbed “A Blooming Parade”, the upcoming session will provide an introduction to a variety of species and cultivars, and it will be on offer at the Earl Grey Community Centre.
The instructor for the class will provide details about how to choose plants with staggered bloom times so there will be beauty throughout the growing season, and the beauty of fall foliage will also be discussed. Everyone will discover how this may help to attract pollinators and other wildlife, and flowing bulbs, native species and introduced perennials will all be up for discussion. The activity is being presented to the public by Nature Manitoba.
Whether they are new to gardening or have been growing for many years, a workshop provides the chance for those who take part to learn some new skills. Guides and other educational materials to distribute during an event like this can be prepared by a brochure printing company.
Nature Manitoba has scheduled A Blooming Parade for March 31st. It will be getting started at 7:30 pm, and the facilitator for the evening will be Marilyn Latta. Tickets start at $10.00.
