Volunteers sought for Vancouver fundraiser

Science World British Columbia will soon be hosting a fundraiser to help meet the expenses of offering its programming to local kids, and it is seeking volunteers to help make the occasion an experience to remember.

The Vancouver-based institution will soon be holding its Science of Cocktails fundraising evening, and volunteers are needed to perform a variety of tasks. The planners anticipate that at least 1,500 guests will be in attendance, and it is one of Science World’s most important fundraisers.

Those who sign up to lend a hand during the function will assist at the coat check and guest check-in stations, and the food and beverage booths will also need to be attended. There will be onsite fundraising and event ambassadors, and these are also areas where many helping hands can make light work.

This opportunity to get involved in their community is open to those who are 19 years or older, and light refreshments will be provided to each of the volunteers. Mandatory volunteer training workshops will be provided, and the shifts during the fundraiser will be six hours long. Print shops can supply name tags, lanyards, volunteer tees, and other items for this sort of event that can all help to make it a success.

The annual Science of Cocktails fundraiser will be held this year on February 6. More information for those who are considering signing up to help can be found on its online listing.
