A Vancouver workshop will treat moms to a special, hands-on crafting experience that offers a salute to Mother Nature, and everyone will walk away with a project they can be proud to display.
Local small business Pretty Dead Taxidermy has organized a seasonal workshop that will prepare butterfly shadow Boxes, and it will offer a gentle introduction to the art of working with natural materials, including a butterfly specimen. These will be ethically sourced, and no prior experience is needed.
Along with the butterflies, the participants will each receive some dried flowers and other botanicals to work with, as well as a shadow box frame they can hand hang or display with a tabletop stand. The tools needed will be supplied as well, and the facilitator will walk them through the process step by step.
Treating mom to a workshop can be a fun alternative to a typical Mother’s Day activity. Printed sheets of instructions, as well as small Promotional Products to distribute to attendees at such events, can be ordered from Stationery printers.
Pretty Dead Taxidermy, which is located at 2333 Ontario Street, will offer its Wings & Wildflowers - A Mother’s Day Shadowbox Workshop on Sunday, May 10th. It will start at 2:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite, and those interested should note the venue can only be reached by stairs.
