Vancouver residents invited to go solar in their own homes

A Vancouver-based company is offering area residents a chance to cut their power bills while doing something that is kind to the environment.

Penfolds Roofing recently gave its customers the option to have solar panels installed on their roofs.

According to Sean Mayhew, who is the company’s director of marketing, solar technology has come a long way in terms of both price and also effectiveness. He suggested to his father, who is the company’s president, that they begin to offer it to their clients. Presentation Folders full of information about solar panels can be prepared by a professional printer for distribution at trade shows, expos and other events, and also be given to customers who may wish to learn more about it.

Mr. Mayhew further remarked that these new generation panels could result in a savings due, in part, to the new metering program that has been set up by BC Hydro. Under this initiative, those who generate more power than they use can receive a payment from the utility. He pointed out that they can be installed on a building at the same time as a roofing job is being done, and said this is both pragmatic and good for the environment.

Anyone who is considering going solar and would like to find out more is invited to visit Penfolds Roofing website at http://www.penfoldsroofing.com/solar-panels.
