Organ donation can quite literally be “the gift of life”, and a celebration that recognizes the positive impact these procedures can have for both the recipient and the donor’s family will be taking place in Vancouver’s Stanley Park this summer.
Donors, organ recipients, and the families of those who made the choice to make a donation will all be included in a beach party event set up in the park’s Prospect Point Picnic Site. There will be games and other activities, and having lots of fun in the sun will be the order of the day.
While the guests mingle and get to know each other, they will be invited to enjoy some light refreshments. They are welcome to bring a folding chair or blanket to sit on, and the organizers noted that it will be wise for the attendees to be sure they have plenty of sunscreen on hand.
Those who are interested in participating in the Transplant Community Family Picnic are asked to RSVP, as this will aid in planning the function. A banner that welcomes all of the guests can be prepared for an outdoor occasion like this by a banner printing company, and along with getting the attendees, it can help to raise awareness about the importance of organ donation.
The date for this celebration of the generous spirit of organ donors will be held on July 28. It will run from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
