Vancouver photo buffs asked to submit springtime snaps

Spring is fast approaching, and Vancouver will soon be filled with the colourful cherry blossoms and other flowers that make the season so special. TelusPureFibre has put out a call to local camera buffs to submit their favourite snaps of these floral displays to a contest that will seek to find the area’s best springtime flower photo.

The organizers of the competition have invited residents of B.C. to enter their pictures, and they have asked that only photos taken in the province be submitted. It will be judged by VCBF Executive Director Linda Poole, and the winning shots will be announced both on the organizer’s social media accounts and the Tourism Vancouver website.

The rules of the contest are simple. All people need to do is take pictures of their favourite cherry blossom display and then upload them to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter with the hashtags #TELUSPureFibre and #vancherryblossomfest. Each entry needs to be tagged or it will not be considered.

An event like this can be a great incentive for members of the public to get out and see the beauty right in their own home community. Flyers can be prepared by a flyer printing company to promote this sort of competition, and if they include the designated hashtags, they can make it easy for the contestants to submit an entry.

The photos in the BC Blossom Photo Watch are asked to make sure their pictures are online by April 27. The winner will be announced on May 1.
