Vancouver mixologists offered online learning opportunity

People have been using plants to create both medicinal and culinary beverages since ancient times, and a Vancouver online activity will help to bring this practice into the 21st century.

One of Vancouver Botanical Gardens’ stated goals is to connect people with plants, and its Boozy Botanical Blends workshop will introduce the various ways botanical ingredients can be used to prepare tasty cocktails. The facilitator of the function will be Cole Beniot, who works with Creative Cocktail Consulting.

The participants in the activity will discover how readily available herbs and other botanicals can be incorporated into a variety of drink recipes, and they will also learn to preserve these ingredients so they will be available for future use. Tips for using bar equipment and drink preparation techniques are also on the agenda. A list of tools and ingredients has been provided so that the registrants can prepare for the class ahead of time and work along with Beniot as he facilitates the lesson.

This workshop will take place online, and pre-registration is mandatory. Many who choose to host an activity like this prepare kits of supplies to mail out in advance, and packing supplies, glasses and other materials for such kits can be sourced from a local printing services company.

The registration fee to be a part of Boozy Botanical Blends is $22, and it will be offered on August 26th. It is scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm.
