A man recently braved four days of wet weather and cool temperatures for a chance to purchase something quite rare.
The item Bruce Langereis was after was a 50-year-old bottle of single malt Glenfiddich scotch whiskey. It is the only one that will be offered up for sale in the whole country this year, and it carried a price tag of $36,000.
Mr. Langereis remarked that he will probably enjoy the first taste from the bottle, but after that, it will be added to the offerings available at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia’s Prohibition Bar, where it will be priced at up to $2,000 per shot. He noted that though the price may be steep, for those who really enjoy a good taste of scotch, it would be well worth it.
Hundreds of other people were also lined up for a chance to purchase a bottle of something special to add to their collections. They did not carry the high price tag that the Glenfiddich did, but they did offer those who waited an opportunity to purchase a bottle most will either choose to store or share. Catalog printers can create publications that contain the listings of the brands and items that are being offered, along with their prices.
The sale of the expensive alcohol was a part the B.C. Liquor Store’s annual release of premium liquors, which will be available at 30 stores throughout the province.
