From huge eagles to tiny hummingbirds, the Vancouver area is home to a wide variety of species of feathered friends, and they will be the stars of the show for an annual festival-style event.
The annual Vancouver Bird Celebration welcomes the avian set, and it will make its way back north after the winter months. The events will be held in various locations, with Stanley Park hosting many of them.
The schedule for the Celebration includes both indoor and in the field sessions. There will be bird walks as well as talks and other presentations from subject matter experts. Workshops have been planned, and they may prove helpful to both beginner and experienced birders alike. Some may even be lucky enough to spy a “lifer” during one of the outings to add to their personal checklist of species spotted, and there will be lots of ways to socialize and meet others who enjoy the hobby.
An event that runs for several days or longer will usually include a variety of activities with different start times and locations. Printed schedules along with other information, can be prepared by a brochure printing company so that the attendees can make their plans in advance.
The 2025 Greater Vancouver Bird Celebration will kick off on May 9th and run until May 25th. The All About Birds website offers more details.
