Vancouver educators invited to nature workshops

A Vancouver learning activity for educators will soon offer tips for how to create a connection between their students and nature.

This online learning opportunity, which will be held live, is being offered by the Westcoast Child Care Resource Centre. It will take place on the Zoom platform, and a link to participate will be sent to each registrant on the scheduled date for the activity. The sessions will not be recorded.

The workshop will introduce the group to the benefits of outdoor play and learning, and they will discuss how it can help students to develop a sense of wellbeing and connection to nature. It will review some of the common challenges that educators may encounter, and participants will even have a chance to sample an assortment of activities for themselves. It may be of particular interest to educators who work with preschool or school-age children, and it is also suitable for those who work with special needs children.

The registration fee for this two-class series is $65. Certificates and other materials will be mailed to each participant, and items like these can be easily prepared by an area printing services company.

The dates for the Integrating Nature and Caring for Children workshops will be June 16th and 17th. It will run from 6:00pm until 7:30pm on both days.
