Vancouver class to explore herbal tea

Herbal teas have been enjoyed for thousands of years, and an upcoming Vancouver class will help to bring them into the modern age.

A November workshop will teach Vancouver tea lovers all about the benefits of herbal tea. It will be a two-hour-long, in-person session, and when they head for home, the attendees will all know how to create their own custom blend.

The group will learn how to forage for, gather and steep an assortment of ingredients to make their tea, and Laura, who will be the facilitator, will discuss a variety of conscious dreaming practices. The benefits of sleep-time teas will be reviewed, and the importance of developing healthy sleeping habits will also be on the agenda. The community seed library will be open so everyone can pick up some free seeds to take home, and anyone who would like to swap or donate some seeds can do so as well.

Community centres often host a variety of learning opportunities for local residents. Guides can be delivered to local households so they know what is coming up, and these can be prepared by area Stationery printers.

The Crafted Tea Making session will begin at 6:30 pm on November 23rd. The Kitsilano Community Centre’s Multipurpose Room will be the venue for the occasion. It is free for seniors to attend, with only a $5 materials fee required. Other ticket prices vary dependent on the age of the attendees.
